It's hard to believe that we're coming up on one year since legendary Canadian broadcaster Don Cherry was fired from his job with CBC and Sportsnet for what some called "insensitive remarks" regarding the tradition in Canada of wearing a poppy to signify respect and remembrance of those who have served in Canada's military. Sure, Grapes is still "in the hockey world" with his Grapevine podcast, but let's get real... it's not the same without Coach's Corner on Saturday night.

But I digress... today isn't about Don Cherry. In fact, Grapes would hate it if he were turned into a Remembrance Day cartoon character for Canadians to watch. No, today is about the men, women and even the animals who serve or served on the front lines and behind the scenes for the Canadian military. Today is Remembrance Day and we remember those who have fought for our freedoms.

Ironically though, Grapes has found himself back in the news today with his name "trending" on Twitter.
