Don Sweeney Confirms Two Rookies Have Made The Boston Bruins.

The Boston Bruins will have something of a new look this season with two young players officially making their main roster out of training camp.

On Monday morning it was Bruins general manager Don Sweeney who shared the big news when he met with members of the media and confirmed that both rookie defenseman Frederic Brunet and rookie forward James Hagens had earned a spot on the main roster.

The arrival of Hagens to the main roster will be met with a huge celebration from a Bruins fan base that has been salivating at the prospect of seeing Hagens take on a prominent role at the National Hockey League level. Hagens of course spent two seasons playing at Boston College and has been one of the Bruins most highly touted prospects since he was selected in the first round (7th overall) of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

The fanfare around Brunet hasn't been as intense as that around Hagens but there's little doubt that the 23 year old blue liner has earned a shot at playing in the NHL. Brunet was originally selected in the fifth round (132nd overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft but has worked his way up through the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins over the last few seasons to earn this chance.

An exciting time for the Bruins and their fans, but even more so for these two young men who now get the chance to live out their NHL dreams.
