The men who represented the United States of America in the Men's Hockey Tournament at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games received a very special surprise after their big win on Sunday.

Following the conclusion of their Gold Medal win over Team Canada, Team USA headed back to their locker room for a post-game celebration and it was during that celebration that they would receive a phone call from the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

Trump called to congratulate the team, taking the time to specifically point out the play of star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, on the efforts that led to their big Gold Medal victory but also extended a rather exclusive invitation to all of the players involved in the victory. Trump informed the men in the room that they were all invited to his State of the Union address, which the players quickly agreed to attend.

"We're giving the State of the Union speech on Tuesday, I can send a military plane or something if you would like to...."

Trump's question trailed off at that point as the American players enthusiastically accepted the offer before Trump could even finish, drowning out the voice of the President in the process.

"We're in," said a voice from somewhere close to the camera.

FBI Director Kash Patel was in the room celebrating with the American players and was likely the man who set up the phone call, so something tells me the players will have no trouble making their way to the State of the Union address later this week.
