The Minnesota Wild has always been known around the NHL to be a good team, but has lacked some offense since the return of the franchise in St-Paul.

According to Michael Russo from the Star Tribune, the Tampa Bay Lightning would like a right handed defenseman in the trade:

To get Drouin, it would probably cost Matt Dumba. That's what I'm being told. That is who the Lightning want - and the Wild, if they haven't already agreed to that being the price, (are) definitely considering that. It's very clear right now that (Wild GM) Chuck Fletcher is trying to give this team a shot in the arm. They're bland on the ice.

ESPN's Pierre Lebrun also mentioned the Wild in the Drouin derby, but also believes that Minnesota might be suited with a centerman than a winger like Drouin.
