Colorado Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic has to be dreading every opportunity the media has to speak with his star forward Matt Duchene.
On Monday the young center once again spoke to the press following his latest outing at training camp, and once again he refused to commit to anything involving the Avalanche.
Even when he was asked whether or not he would play in the regular season for Colorado if he was not traded, Duchene would not give a conclusive answer one way or the other.
"I haven't looked that far I'm taking it one day at a time," said Duchene.
Interestingly Duchene was also asked about whether or not he felt the Avalanche could win.
"Like I said I'm taking it one day at a time."
It's painfully clear that he's not happy where he is, and for good reason, and you have to believe that every time this displeasure is made public in such a fashion rival general managers in the National Hockey League smell blood in the water.
