Ducks' defenseman has reportedly demanded a trade

I guess the new trend for 1st round picks is to just demand a trade if you're not happy with ice time?

According to a report from Sportsnet NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Anaheim Ducks defenseman Pavel Mintyukov has requested a trade.

"Ducks defenceman Pavel Mintyukov would like to be moved if he’s not going to play," Friedman said this past weekend.

The 21 year old defenseman was drafted 10th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and has played 19 games for the Ducks so far this season. He put up five goals and 19 points in 68 games last season and a stellar 28 points in his rookie season back in 2023-24.

This news comes hot off the heels of Winnipeg Jets forward Brad Lambert, a fellow 2022 1st round pick (30th overall), requesting a trade also.

Could we maybe see a swap in the works?
