Ducks ink new deal with two players!

The UFA market is about to heat up big time time but teams still have the option to sign their own players to new or extended contracts. It's still a valid way to manage the roster, although a tad less exciting for the fans. Many expects big moves and huge trades, but growing your own players is still much smarter in term of salary cap management.

Anyhow, the Ducks announced the signing of both Jaycob Megna and Kevin Boyle.

Jaycob Megna began in the NHL last April. The huge 6'06'', 225 lbs defenseman has certainly the size for the job, but he still needs to hone his skills. He had an excellent season with the Gulls last season and a lot is expected of the 24 years in the future.

Kevin Goyle is a 25 years old goalie who's played more than 100 in the College level before graduating to the ECHL and playing 19 games in the AHL for the Gulls. He's still a long shot for the NHL, but he can give some good performances in the AHL level at least.
