Chicago Blackhawks veteran defenseman Duncan Keith blew a gasket on Saturday night and he decided he was going to let the Nashville Predators know about it.

Things did not go as planned for the Blackhawks to say the least. The Blackhawks quickly found themselves down by a score of 3 - 0 after consecutive goals from Kevin Fiala, Eeli Tolvanen and Ryan Johansen and with that in mind it's not hard to see why Keith may have been frustrated at the time. Keith wouldn't explode however until roughly 8 minutes had gone by in the first.

That was when Keith was rocked by a massive hit from 25 year old  Predators winger Miikka Salomaki, catching the veteran defenseman on the shoulder after working his was to Keith's side to create some big time contact. Keith however was having none of it, and to his credit did not seem at all phased by the massive hit, and immediately went after Salomaki. In spite of Keith's clear desire to drop the gloves the Predators forward simply turtled up and refused to fight.

Keith continued to go after Salomaki however and even after the National Hockey League officials on the ice attempted to pull Keith off of Salomaki the Blackhawks blue liner continued his attempts to get at him. In the process Keith even knocked over an NHL official who thankfully appeared to be alright in spite of falling to the ice largely due to Keith's antics after the play.

During all of that several members of both the Predators and the Blackhawks got into some extra curricular activities after the whistle but it was undoubtedly the Blackhawks' Alex DeBrincat who stole the show. DeBrincat a very small forward by the NHL's standards, labeled as "the smallest guy on the ice," by the broadcast team, went after Predators defenseman Matt Irwin, dropping the gloves with a much larger man than himself.

To be fair it looked like Irwin was in control of the fight for the vast majority of the exchange and clearly appear to be the strong man, but DeBrincat did fire back some shots of his own before the officials stepped in and split these two apart.
