The sophomore goaltender is clearly frustrated.
The Calgary Flames dropped a 7th consecutive decision last night and goaltender Dustin Wolf is getting fed up.
The Montreal Canadiens came away with a 2-1 decision over the Flames at Calgary's famed Saddledome, despite a stellar effort from the Flames. The Flames outshot the Habs 37-28 but failed to capitalize on their offensive chances. After the game Wolf made it clear that he's frustrated with the lack of offensive support.
“I mean, I can't generate offense. I do my job, I try to keep the puck out of our net, and hope that our guys can generate a couple,” Wolf said post-game.
Hard to disagree with the kid there...
The issue though is that a team on a 7 game losing streak doesn't need their goalie calling them out in the media. That's not gonna help...
The kid is right, but this sort of stuff should stay in the room and out of the media. Honestly, I know it's early in the season but I have serious concerns for the Flames this season. They're sinking fast and they may be putting themselves out of the playoff chase before it even begins in earnest.
