The Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers have produced an eventful first period in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final.

It didn't take long for these teams to get on the scoreboard, with Stars captain Jamie Benn opening the scoring on Saturday just 3 minutes and 39 seconds into the game.

The Stars' lead would be short lived thanks to a great individual effort from Oilers forward Connor Brown, who would pick up his own rebound to beat Jake Oettinger through the five hole.

One of the more notable moments of the period came late when Oilers forward Dylan Holloway charged towards the Stars net to create a scoring chance, a scoring chance that would end with Holloway crashing into Oettinger. Holloway would never get his scoring chance with Stars defenseman Chris Tanev coming in with his big body to deliver a hit on Holloway, a hit that contributed significantly to Holloway making contact with the Stars netminder.

As a result there was no call on the play, and thankfully it appears no one was injured.
