This is not what the Detroit Red Wings wanted to see on Sunday.

Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has once again been knocked out of a game with an apparent injury, this time after being on the receiving end of a cross check to the back. That cross check came courtesy of Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish and resulted in Larkin being pinned between two players as he absorbed the shot to his back.

Here's a look at the replay:

Larkin was incensed as he left the ice, slamming his stick into the boards in a clear sign of frustration before heading down the tunnel and into the the Red Wings locker room.

No official word yet on whether or not Larkin will return to tonight's game.

Update: Larkin was back out on the ice for the power play to start the second period.
