Dylan Larkin was a no-show at practice today at Little Caesars Arena, and according to head coach Derek Lalonde, it's because he's dealing with the effects from a rough game against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.

He suffered an upper body injury during the 1st period on Saturday after taking a fist to the nose from Boston's Brandon Carlo, and also appeared to re-aggravate the injury during the second period. Take a look at the play for yourself below:

He was able to finish the game and even tallied his 5th goal of the season later on, but was unable to skate today.

“He’s battling through some bumps and bruises, so we hope to have him for tomorrow, but we’ll evaluate in the morning,” coach Derek Lalonde said.

“Probably gutted through that game (Saturday) on adrenaline. Much-needed day off today that will benefit.”

With the two points earned by the Red Wings on Saturday, they improved to 7-4-1 and 15 points, good for 2nd in the Atlantic Division behind Boston. Their work doesn't get any easier tomorrow evening, as they take on the 8-2-1 New York Rangers on the road in the Big Apple.
