Dylan Strome signs just a 1 year deal despite receiving “a lot of interest”
A surprising deal, to be honest.

According to a report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Washington Capitals have signed free agent forward Dylan Strome to a one year contract worth $3.5 million.
Strome put up 22 goals and 48 points in 69 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season. Honestly, I was surprised to see him hit the open market especially given that the Blackhawks could have retained his rights by simply sending him a qualifying offer. GM Kyle Davidson did say though that Strome's arbitration rights made the team nervous and they were concerned that they'd be bound to a contract that they weren't comfortable with. As it is though, Strome is moving on and will join a Capitals team that's looking to take one last gasp as a Stanley Cup contender.
