Dylan Strome with one of the WORST open net whiffs in NHL history

I've whiffed on so many open nets that I'm pretty sure I'd have more goals than Gretzky if I connected on at least half of 'em.

Having said that, I'm not sure I've whiffed on a shot as badly as Washington Capitals forward Dylan Strome did this evening.

Strome had a wide open net and not only does he not get a shot on the wide open net from in the goal crease, but he somehow manages to put the puck over the glass and entirely out of play.

That's the worst whiff I've seen since Craig Smith missed a literal open net by trying to go top shelf on the doorstep.

Okay... actually now that I think about it... Smith's is worse. In Strome's case he at least had a goaltender that he was trying to lift the puck over. Smith simply just got caught hot-dogging.
