Penguins get a very good bit of news during Saturday's practice.
The Pittsburgh Penguins may be on the verge of some very good news.
Earlier this week, the Penguins lost the services of veteran defenseman Kris Letang when it was revealed that Letang was currently dealing with an upper body injury of some sort. Letang would miss both the Penguins games this week, sitting out Wednesday's matchup against the Calgary Flames and Thursday's matchup against the Edmonton Oilers.
It seemed likely that Letang would miss a third straight game with a game against the Vancouver Canucks just right around the corner on Sunday, but the Penguins maybe on the verge of getting reinforcements.
On Saturday, Letang was back on the ice with his teammates, participating in the team's practice, and looked very much the part of a player that is posed to make his return.
Here is how the defensive pairings looked:
Wotherspoon-Karlsson
Kulak-Letang
Shea-St. Ivany
Solovyov-Clifton
Despite being 38 years of age Letang is having another solid season with 3 goals and 22 assists for 25 points so far over 45 games. His return would mean a big boost to the Penguins blue line and it couldn't come at a better time with the Penguins looking to extend a 3 game win streak.
That being said there has been no official announcement regarding Letang's return just yet, but stay tuned for more on this developing story.
