The Edmonton Oilers are left licking their wounds after yet another setback last night, this time at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings. Goaltender Stuart Skinner was pulled in favor of the struggling Jack Campbell over the course of the 6-3 setback after surrendering three goals on 24 shots.

And he's taken a short leave of absence from the team - though not for bad reasons. He'll be flying home to be with his wife for the birth of their first child. And in his absence, the Oilers have re-called goaltender Calvin Pickard from the American Hockey League affiliate Bakersfield Condors.

Pickard, in his first season with the Oilers organization, has posted a 5-3-1 record, 2.89 GAA and .909 save percentage in 10 contests with Bakersfield this season.

Right now, the plan for the Oilers is to start Campbell in their next two road games against the Ducks and Sharks.
