Edmonton Oilers call up goaltender Jack Campbell on Sunday.
The Oilers have called up a pair of players, including veteran goaltender Jack Campbell.
The Edmonton Oilers have added some depth to their roster ahead of Game 4.
On Sunday, the Oilers called up a pair of players with both goaltender Jack Campbell and defenseman Philip Broberg being recalled from the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors. That might raise some alarm bells for some with concerns about potential injuries to the Oilers roster, but today's moves were much more of a formality than anything else.
The Bakersfield Condors, the Oilers AHL affiliate, have officially wrapped up their season and as a result neither Campbell nor Broberg are needed at the AHL level.
The Oilers have called up both men to add depth to their playoff roster in the event that potential injuries could result in a situation where Campbell or Broberg are needed, but barring that I don't expect that you will see either man take the ice for the Oilers in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
