Ekblad doesn't get the revenge he wanted against the Habs as Danault gives him spinebuster!

He clearly has no luck when fighting any of the Canadiens...

Everyone was holding its breath on Friday night when the Florida Panthers and the Montreal Canadiens met for the first time since the Max Domi - Aaron Ekblad incident from the preseason. Back in September, Domi suspended for a total of five preseason contests when he received a match penalty for punching Florida Panthers' Aaron Ekblad in the face after the defenseman declined an invitation to fight. Domi gave Ekblad a couple light shots to the face with his left glove before shaking off his right glove and dropping Ekblad with a bare-knuckle shot.

A few days after the sucker punch took place, Ekblad met media members with a busted-up nose and a pair of black eyes to comment on Domi's actions.

“I think it’s dumb. I think he’s stupid for doing it,” Ekblad said. “But in the end, that’s hockey. That’s the way it goes.

“Scores will get settled at a later date.”

Before the contest, both players mentioned they weren't focusing on the incident anymore and were looking to get the two points for their restive club. However, with the Habs winning the game by the final score of 5-3, you have to believe Ekblad was looking for some revenge...

It did not go as planned...

The Panthers defenseman decided to drop the gloves in front of Domi's teammate Phillip Danault, however, he was quickly given a brutal spinebuster which put an end to the fight...

We can understand how Ekblad wanted to motivate his team and show them they need to be more aggressive, but let's just say the blue liner should leave this job to someone else... He has a history of concussions and clearly, he has no luck in fights against any of the Canadiens..
