Did the NHL making a mistake moving from Arizona?
Technically, speaking the Utah Mammoth have the lowest average attendance in the entire NHL.
Of course, their attendance figures are skewed a bit since their home arena, Delta Center, has a capacity of just 12,478 until interior renovations are completed before next season. So, while Utah technically has the lowest attendance numbers of the season, they have a 100% sellout rate. At least on paper.
Scenes like this evening might say otherwise...
Utah is hosting the visiting Los Angeles Kings this evening and the arena's lower bowl is very, VERY sparsely attended.

Okay... so maybe technically this is a "sell out" but how many of these "sold" tickets were giveaways for folks who simply didn't show up?
Despite the NHL saying they have are not "very concerned" about attendance in Utah, tonight's scene paints a different picture. Then again, this is a league that wasn't concerned about the Coyotes for well over a decade...
