Eric Lindros speaks out after the death of Bernie Parent.

The National Hockey League and the hockey community at large was devastated over the weekend following an announcement from the Philadelphia Flyers that confirmed that legendary NHL goaltender Bernie Parent had passed away.

Parent was not only a Stanley Cup champion many times over but he was one of the most beloved sports figures in the city of Philadelphia, even after more than 3 decades since he last set foot on the ice for the Flyers. That was seen through the incredible outpouring of love and support for the Parent family following the terrible news, and now another Flyers legend is speaking out to share his thoughts on a man that he clearly loved.

On Sunday, Philadelphia Flyers legend Eric Lindros took to social media to express his thoughts on the passing of the Flyers legend and a man that he called his friend. Lindros expressed that Parent's legacy would live on long after he is gone and accompanied his message with a beautiful photo that perfectly encapsulates the friendship the two men shared.

From Lindros:

Bernie Parent wasn’t just a legend for the Flyers. he was the heart and soul of what it means to be part of the Flyers family. Rest easy, my friend. Your legacy will forever live on in Flyers history, and in the hearts of everyone who had the honor of calling you a friend.

In the photo Lindros can be seen mauling Parent, holding his face in one of his big mitts, while also giving him a loving kiss on the cheek. The best part though is the genuine smile on Parent's face, a wonderful way to remember the Flyers legend.
