Yesterday National Hockey League star Drew Doughty made some very interesting comments when he left open the possibility that he could leave the Los Angeles Kings when his contract expires.

During his comments Doughty hinted at the fact that the future was equally uncertain for Ottawa Senators superstar Erik Karlsson, and naturally the media was all over it on Thursday when they had a chance to speak with him.

According to a report from a TSN 1200, when the question was posed to Karlsson the veteran defenserman answered that while it would be his preference to remain a Senator, "business is business."

The 27-year-old is arguably the best offensive defenseman in the entire league, and for that reason he will likely command tremendous money on his next deal. Considering the Ottawa Senators have a notoriously cheap owner in Eugene Melnyk, Karlsson leaving the Sens seems even more likely that Doughty leaving the Kings.
