Erik Karlsson like you've never seen him before!

Erik Karlsson has secured a very safe spot in the league with amazing plays and slick goals since he began as a professional. Even though he's been playing as a defenseman, Karlsson is better known for his offensive flair and skills. 

However, he wasn't always the offensive genius we have learned to admire. Apparently, Erik began his career wearing a whole different set of equipment. 

An interesting question can be formulated following such discovery. Is Karlsson's offensive flair and defensive vision the result of his goalies days? Every position gives a different point of view of the game and playing a goalie is a totally different experience. Maybe Karlsson understands the game more than the vast majority of players because he saw it through the eyes of a goalie.
