The Detroit Red Wings made some National Hockey League history on Friday night on the 1st night of the 2024 Draft, selecting forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygärd; he becomes the first Norwegian player in history to be taken in the opening round of the NHL Draft.
And while reaction to the selection has been mostly positive thus far, one particularly negative review comes courtesy of ESPN's John Buccigross. Immediately after the Brandsegg-Nygärd was announced as the pick, commentator John Buccigross immediately began quipping against it.
“Another year of missing the playoffs! Another year of missing the playoffs!” he exclaimed as Brandsegg-Nygärd was embracing his family members.
