The sense is that Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Ethan Bear could be on the move shortly.

Insider Pierre LeBrun confirmed on Friday that the Hurricanes are talking to multiple teams about Bear. However, fans remains on the edge:

“Whether or not this leads to a trade we shall see.”

Bear may have signed a one-year contract worth $2.2 million in July, he is waiting to get his first action of 2022-23.
Earlier this week, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman mentioned that Bear might have asked for a trade and quickly listed the Vancouver Canucks as a potential destination for the blue liner. The Canadian team has had a disastrous start to the season, and have become natural suitors for Bear who could definitely bolster their back end.

Friedman also believes the Toronto Maple Leafs might be poking around, which is kind of expected. Whenever a right shot defenseman becomes available on the market, the Maple Leafs are bound to be one of the teams that are speculated on.

On top of that, the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens could also become suitors for Bear. Chatter is heating up and it looks like Bear might finally get to play - however, in a different uniform than the Canes’ one.

Better keep a close eye on this one!
