The Edmonton Oilers are glad to have a healthy Evander Kane in the lineup in the postseason. And sure, rival fans, now the ones rooting for the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final, love to hate him. And it was easy to see during Game 1 after the Oilers posted a video of Kane, arriving in style at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, getting out of his new Rolls Royce.

Unfortunately for Kane, who has a bad history of bankruptcy, fans started commenting underneath the video, taking brutal shots at the Oilers’ veteran forward.

“Now show the repo guy driving off in it,” wrote one fan.

“Those rentals hit different when you're bankrupt,” added another.

“With 38 dollars in his bank account,” dropped one more.

As you may remember, Kane’s history with gambling and bankruptcy has made headlines more than once. Kane once claimed to have placed as many as 50 bets per day with illegal bookmakers when he was in the grip of his gambling addiction. The winger filed for bankruptcy in January 2021, claiming a total of $26.8 million in debt. That’s despite having signed a $49 million deal with the San Jose Sharks just three years earlier. His contract was later terminated, and he finally ended up with the Oilers. Kane was never banned though his estranged wife Anna had accused him of betting on hockey and compromised games for gambling purposes.

Nothing might have been done for the suspicious gambling, but fans are surely having fun making Kane pay on their own terms.

Of course, seeing him drive him with his Rolls Royce, fans will begin to wonder if, after the Game 1 loss, Kane might have placed a bet against his Oilers…

The Stars won the first game 6-3 and have taken a 1-0 series lead.
