His decision surprised many…
Evander Kane was finally back on Tuesday, finally healed from a slashed wrist sustained in November and said he felt fine in his first go-round following the scary incident.
The recovery was successful, he who played his second game since the surgery on Thursday, but once again failed to record a point. However, there is a surprising detail to his return in the equipment he wasn’t wearing that was noticed and got people wondering why he wouldn’t be more careful following this scary injury. Darren Dreger explained on last night’s Insider Trading on TSN:
You have to admit that, considering the severity of his injury and the trauma he suffered when he fears he was going to bleed to death, you would assume that he would put on the right equipment. The injury could have been career-threatening.
The NHL may have been hoping he would comment and convince other players to wear the cut-resistant sleeves following the GM meeting in March, but now that it’s being exposed that he is not putting them on, fans are wondering why he would take the risk…
Kane has played two games since returning from the gruesome injury, and on Thursday, got a chance to speak with Maroon prior to puck drop between the Lightning and Oilers in Edmonton.
