The newest Buffalo Sabre Evander Kane met the media at his introductory press conference in Buffalo on Saturday. He commented heavily on his time with the Winnipeg Jets which ended quite unceremoniously. Kane will be unable to suit up for the Sabres this season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder. "For myself, individually, it's a unique situation,” Kane said. "I'm already looking forward to next year, but the team's still playing. So it's kind of tough to balance that a little bit. But it gives me an opportunity to get healthy and finally get my body back to where it needs to be so I can perform at my best." Kane added he's happy to leave the "fishbowl" of Winnipeg after an "overdue" trade, according to John Vogl and Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News. the public may not have a clear picture of what actually went down. "There’s been numerous things that have happened in the past that are completely false, and we’ll leave it at that," Kane said. He also addressed the negative image that's come to be associated with him. "It really doesn't bother me as much as people might think it does. It gives me a good laugh sometimes," Kane said. And the famous track suit incident with Dustin Byfuglien? "I'm not really going to get into the details of what happened," Kane said. "Was I wearing a track suit? No."
