Evander Kane's ex-wife fires back after NHL star issues public statement on Saturday.
On Saturday, veteran National Hockey League star Evander Kane issued a scathing public statement in which he chastised his ex-wife, Anna Kane, for various alleged behaviors. In the statement Evander Kane made it clear that he had reached a boiling point and could no longer keep quiet, but unfortunately he may have kicked a hornet's nest.
A public statement of this nature was sure to fan the flames of an already long-standing dispute between the two former lovers and, sure enough, just minutes after Evander Kane issued a public statement we got a response from Anna Kane through social media.
Perhaps predictably, Anna Kane has disputed the claims by her ex-husband and has published what she claims to be legal documents that support her claims. The alleged documents are dated September of 2023 and were published alongside the following statement from Anna Kane:
"Evander Frank Kane in a legal deposition saying that he has not tried to facilitate any time with my daughter shall the opposite is true, also admitting that I have never hurt my child," wrote Anna Kane via her Instagram. "This is a legal deposition not a “ statement” for instagram. This is under oath."
You can see the documents she has made public in the post below:
Regardless of which side you believe in this story the timing of this situation could not be worse for Evander Kane. The veteran NHL forward is expected to part ways with his current team, the Vancouver Canucks, after his contract expires at the end of this season and you do have to wonder how this drama might impact his chances of finding another team in the NHL to give him a contract.
There's no question that Evander Kane is no longer the player he once was, and that combined with all of this extra outside noise that surrounds him may be enough to cost him one more season in the NHL.
