The Pittsburgh Penguins suffered a crushing 5-1 loss against the Nashville Predators, yesterday night. And even though star forward Evgeni Malkin is the leading scorer in this year's playoffs, he was unable to register a single shot attempt during Game 3. It is fair to believe it was a very frustrating game for him.
To add insult to insult to injury, a rally towel seems to have been tossed at Malkin, as he was heading to the locker room after the game. Take a look at his reaction:
That was awfully close. While the fans should not throw things or be too close to the players, Malkin's reaction would have been a bit disproportionate. In light of this event, we can say that the Nashville fans were definitely able to get under his skin.
Malkin and the Penguins are visiting Nashville again on Monday night, for Game 4. Pittsburgh leads the series two games to one.
