Evgeni Malkin takes out his own goalie with a stick to the face.

He probably wasn't too happy about this one.

Accidents happen, but that doesn't make it any more or less likely for you to be happy about eating a stick to the face.

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin was just trying to be a good teammate when he came to the defense of his young goaltender Matt Murray, but the end result could not have been more diametrically opposed to his original intentions.

Malkin attempted to clear Murray's crease of Washington Capital bodies and a shoving match ensued as a result. Unfortunately that resulted in his stick flying into the face of Murray, who had already lost his mask on the play, causing it to strike his exposed head.

Murray would be forced to leave the game as a result.
