Ex-NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney dunks on Canucks fans

It's clear who he's rooting for!

Well, it's pretty obvious what former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney thinks about the Vancouver Canucks and their fans!

The co-host of the widely followed "Spittin' Chicklets" podcast, a former player for the Edmonton Oilers and an evident fan, directed criticism towards the team's fan base. During a recent episode, he openly expressed his disdain for all things Canucks, stating that he "cannot stand" the team or their "cocky" fans:

“I’m about to haunt your f*cking dreams for the next two weeks, ok? I cannot stand the Vancouver Canucks,” Whitney said. “I’ve always hated that team. I love Rick Tocchet; I have so much respect for him, [but] I hate their fans, and I cannot wait to beat them… This team’s fanbase is so cocky.”

“When I talk about Toronto being useless and pathetic, you guys might be worse!” he continued, referring to Canucks fans. “You’ve never done sh*t! You’ve never won a thing, you’ve never done anything. You went to the finals and blew it. You lost in ’94. You stink! And now you act like you’re this wonderful, amazing franchise with all these incredible players. You guys have done nothing.”

As if that wasn't enough, he then decided to double down on his feelings by calling Canucks fans "soft" after they reacted to his initial comments.

“Swear filled rant” 😂", he wrote on his X account. "These Vancouver softies are something else"

This isn't the first time that he's also targeted Canucks fans on social media:

There will be plenty more time for trash talk, as the first postseason series between the Canucks and Oilers since 1992 will get underway tomorrow night starting from Vancouver!
