Pittsburgh Penguins forward Tom Sestito has been suspended for his hit on Toby Enstrom last night.
The decision was made considering Sestito didn't try to minimize his hit on Enstrom even as he was turning his back on him. The contact was violent and it could have been less dangerous if Sestito recognized the impending disaster. See for yourself.
Four games are a lot for that kind of play, but more and more the Player safety department tries to send a clear message: you don't target the head and you try to minimize your hits when the flow of the play becomes dangerous.
Sestito will have plenty of time to think about it.
