Fake Connor McDavid account gives Oilers fans heart attacks

Business magnate Elon Musk is now the Chief Executive Officer of Twitter, and he's already introduced some pretty interesting changes to the communication giant. One particular feature that users can now experience is having a verified "blue check" next to their name for a small payment of $8 per month.
And one wise guy hockey fan decided to have a little fun with that, and may have given fans of the Edmonton Oilers everywhere a severe cardiovascular event.
A now-suspended Twitter account that was made to look as though it belonged to Connor McDavid announced that he'd been traded to the New York Islanders. While the tweet was taken down, the screenshot will live on.
It wasn't long before NHL Insider Frank Seravalli tweeted directly at Musk:
