False information was reported about Sidney Crosby during postseason
The Penguins have been trying to set it straight since:

We all know how Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby missed Game 6 of the first round series against the New York Rangers. He was sidelined after missing the end of Game 5 in New York when he was hit in the head by defenseman Jacob Trouba and underwent concussion protocols.
While Crosby recovered in time to take part in Game 7, which the Penguins ultimately lost in overtime at the hands of the Rangers, there was false information that made it out when The Athletic’s Rob Rossi revealed on the air of 93.7 The Fan that it was Penguins’ management that did not allow Crosby to play in Game 6.
“He had passed a concussion test and wanted to play in Game 6 but was told no by the general manager,” Rossi said during the interview. “I’m not too sure how much juice he has with this management group.”
Rossi continues to say that the decision wasn’t strictly Rob Hextall, but it did come from the general manager and those in the front office.
The report was blown out and following the Penguins’ elimination, head coach Mike Sullivan had to set the record straight, saying that doctors had not cleared Crosby.
Crosby’s agent even commented prior to Game 7 on how the team was approaching the situation, saying the Penguins were being extra cautious.
Now, Colin Dunlap, host on THE FAN, threw Rossi, who regularly contributes to the station, under the bus and mocked it for his false report.
It led to Rossi blocking tweets from Dunlap as the reporter maintained his version of fact until Sullivan was questioned about the injury.
Dunlap kept having fun with the false information spread about Crosby, even when the star player himself commented his injury and availability for Games 6 and 7.
There will be more and more reports on Crosby and what’s happening in Pittsburgh in the coming months with many hot topics on the table for the team. Both star players Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang are set to become free agents this summer and could choose to sign elsewhere, especially since the rumour came out that they were presented low-ball offers.
But is that true or false information?
