Fans In Vancouver Hit Quinn Hughes And The Wild With A Brutal Chant.

The Canucks fans didn't only take aim at Quinn Hughes, but even included the Wild as well.

The Vancouver Canucks fan base may have been inspired by what they saw from the Ottawa Senators fan base earlier this month when Florida Panthers Brady Tkachuk returned to the City of Ottawa for the first time since effectively forcing a trade to the Panthers.

While I thought the reception for Hughes would be warmer, and in many ways it was, there was no doubt about the fact that a significant portion of the Canucks fan base welcomed Hughes back to Vancouver like a man who had betrayed their city.

It began early, with Hughes treated to some cheers but also a chorus of boos during his tribute video on Sunday night.

Hughes was booed every time he touched the puck but the crowd erupted in a roar when he was hit on his very first shift back in Vancouver.

The most brutal moment of the night would come towards the end of the first period however when the fans in Vancouver expressed what I know many are already thinking about Hughes' future with the Minnesota Wild.

"He's not signing! He's not signing" chanted the fans over and over again.

Unfortunately for fans in Vancouver though their team would not put up nearly the effort the Ottawa Senators put up in Brady Tkachuk's return. The Canucks fell by a score of 4 - 2, earning their 10th straight loss, and to make matters worse Hughes picked up both a goal and an assist, hitting the 500 career point milestone in the process.
