Tonight marks the very last game to be played in the legendary Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Opened in 1979, it was the home of one of the most prolific franchise in the history of the NHL, most notably hosting 4 Stanley Cup conquests and many notable events.

The first game played in the arena involved many legends such as Rogatien Vachon and Peter Mahovlich.

As you probably know, the Wings will be missing their first Playoffs in the last 26 years, do tonight's the very last game they will play there. Facing the New Jersey Devils, they will make sure it's a memorable night for everyone involved.

It all started with a red carpet including cheering fans and delighted players.

Many players have their very own memories of the place.

The team will move to the Little Caesars arena next year and try to rebuild their dynasty there.

Anyhow, this one will be special for everyone! Hockey is just beautiful.
