The Detroit Red Wings essentially told forward Filip Zadina to go jump in the lake when they placed him on waivers earlier this week after being unable to facilitate his request of a trade. But all 31 other NHL teams didn't pick up him at no additional cost to them.
Yesterday, he was once again waived for the purposes of terminating his contract, meaning that his cap hit is now officially off the Red Wings' books. But once again, there were no takers for his services.
Zadina has scored just 28 goals and 40 assists in 190 career NHL games, all with Detroit.
