The Olympic hockey tournament officially kicked off this morning, but Team Canada won’t play its first game until tomorrow against Czechia.

Earlier on Wednesday, Canadian head coach Jon Cooper decided to shuffle his lines just 24 hours before the opening match. Canada faces Czechia on Thursday, followed by Switzerland on Friday. There were some notable line adjustments on Wednesday, but one important question remains : which of Jordan Binnington, Logan Thompson, or Darcy Kuemper will not see action in these first two games?

After many predictions and guesses in the past few days, Cooper took the opportunity to outline his goaltending plans for the start of the tournament. While the identity of the starting goalie against Czechia won’t be revealed until tonight, it’s confirmed that Cooper will use two different goaltenders across Canada’s first two matches.

Jordan Binnington is having a rough season with the St. Louis Blues. Through 32 NHL games, he has an 8-17-6 record, a 3.65 goals-against average, and a .864 save percentage. Hopefully, like last year, he can raise his game when it matters most.

Logan Thompson has fared better this season with the Washington Capitals, posting a 19-16-4 record, a 2.45 GAA, and a .912 save percentage over 39 games.

Darcy Kuemper, at 35, is the veteran of the group. He has played 36 games with the Los Angeles Kings this season, going 14-11-9 with a 2.59 GAA and a .900 save percentage.

As practice unfolded, we saw both Binnington and Kuemper getting more action in net, though everyone is staying tight lipped on tomorrow’s starting goalie vs. Czechia.

Who do you believe gets the start?
