Matthew Schaefer gives Biz a taste of his own medicine during an incredible interview.
If this is a sign of things to come as far as the personality of first overall pick Matthew Schaeffer is concerned, fans of the National Hockey League will be in for a treat over the next several years.
Although fans from around the league haven't had a chance to see Schaeffer do a great deal of public speaking since he was drafted, the first overall pick was a recent guest on the Spittin Chiclets podcast with former NHL players Ryan Whitney, Paul 'Biznasty' Bissonnette and Keith Yandle, and it was during his appearance there that his wonderful personality really shined through.
Throughout the interview Schaeffer showed a willingness to be open and honest about his hockey career and the decisions that led him to a point where he became the first overall pick in the draft. While Schaeffer's openness was a breath of fresh air, it was his willingness to engage in banter with former NHL players that really helped his personality shine through.
It would be Paul Bissonnette who would receive the brunt of the chirps from Schaeffer, if not all of them, which of course was much to the delight of both Whitney and Yandle who were loving every second of it. Much to his credit, Bissonnette was rolling with the punches the whole time and seemed to be loving the fact that Schaeffer was so confident and willing to show so much personality.
It made for a great interview overall but you can check out the highlights of Schaeffer chirping Biznasty in the short clip just below:
