The Vancouver Canucks fan base has been very concerned about the status of star goaltender Thatcher Demko after Demko pulled himself out of a game early over the weekend.

Although the Canucks have not yet provided an official update on the health of their seemingly injured goalie, on Monday National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman provided the first real update on Demko since we last saw him on the ice.

According to Friedman, it sounds like Demko will miss some time moving forward.

"I think he's gonna miss a little bit of time," revealed Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast.

One of the big concerns for Demko has been surrounding a potential groin issue, but Friedman dismissed those concerns on Monday.

"I don't know exactly what is going on here but I don't think it's his groin," said Friedman. "I don't think it's that, I think it's something else."

The most significant bit of news from Friedman however was the revelation that this injury isn't going to be serious enough to impact the Canucks down the stretch.

"From what I understand it's not disastrous," said Friedman. "It's probably even better for Vancouver that they are going to be forced to rest him a bit."

It sounds like the Canucks may have avoided the worst.
