Is this it?
Last night Calgary Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau scored the game's opening goal in a 4-3 win over the rival Edmonton Oilers and it was the last goal he'll score this season.
The Flames announced today that Huberdeau will undergo season ending hip surgery and that his recovery will take him through the regular season and into the next offseason.
The 32-year old forward has 10 goals, 25 points through 50 games played with Calgary this season. And, with all the trade speculation around this team, you have to wonder if Huberdeau has played his final game for the Flames.
Of course, Huberdeau's onerous contract could make it hard for Flames GM Craig Conroy to move him, but where there's a will, there's a way.
Huberdeau is in year 3 of an 8 year deal that pays him a whopping $10.5 million annually.
