Flames get the chance for a freebie on waivers today
Will Craig Conroy make it happen?
This just in, the San Jose Sharks have placed forward Walker Duehr on waivers today.
Duehr has played just 8 games for the Sharks since being claimed off of waivers from the Calgary Flames earlier this season. Because he was previously with Calgary, the Flames could put in a claim on him and assign him directly to the team's AHL affiliate Calgary Wranglers. If any other NHL team were to put in a claim on him though, they would not be able to assign him to the AHL without waivers. Duehr has played the majority of the past three seasons with the Wranglers, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames do in fact put in a claim on him.
Stay tuned.
