Flames' Michael Ferland is listed as week-to-week with a sprained knee, GM Brad Treliving confirmed on Sunday.

"Micheal's got an MCL sprain in his knee so he will be week-to-week and we'll just see how things respond so he will begin treating that now and rehabbing it now. He didn't make the trip so he is back in Calgary."

The gritty forward left the game against Detroit during the second period and did not return to the game.

The injury comes at a very bad time for the Flames who could use any help they can in order to get their season back on track, after a terrible start to this year's campaign.

Derek Grant was recalled from the Stockton in the American Hockey League.
