You know that Calgary Flames head coach Darryl Sutter tells it like it is. And while his team is in first place of the Pacific conference with 79 points, he knows that another club out there is as menacing in the run for the Stanley Cup this season.

The Colorado Avalanche stands firm in first place of the Central Division and when talking about the postseason with media on Tuesday, the Flames’ head coach trolled the Avalanche’s future first round playoff opposent by saying:

“If you are a wild card team I sure as hell don’t want to play Colorado in the first round, because it’s going to be a waste of eight days.”

We can see that Sutter does not believe that opponent would last long against Colorado.

Ahead of Tuesday’s action, the Nashville Predators and Vegas Golden Knights were in the wildcard spots, however, in the past weeks, we’ve seen the Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks all land in that spot.

Can you imagine if you’re an Oilers’ player and hear this from your Alberta rivals? This has to fire them up!

But we cannot disagree with Sutter : the Avalanche is set on the postseason and making it all the way and might get even scarier if the team lands Philadelphia Flyers’ star forward Claude Giroux at the deadline.

Yep, we agree with Sutter!
