FLASHBACK: The NHL's bizarre “Guardian Project” for 2011 All-Star Game

This will certainly go down as one of the memories that hockey fans of every NHL team has tried to forget. 

The National Hockey League recruited the assistance of comic legend Stan Lee for "The Guardian Project", in which each NHL team would be represented by a "Guardian" in accordance with their team name. They were released every day leading up to the 2011 NHL All-Star Game in Raleigh. 

Let's just say that the reviews for each "Guardian" were a little less than stellar, along with some of the woefully whimsical descriptions - like "The Duck, who was described as "a rebel with a trust fund". 

Let's take a look below at some of the more cringe-worthy "Guardians":
