We finally have found out why Marc-Andre Fleury has left the Vegas Golden Knights’ organization on a personal leave this week.

It has just been revealed that Fleury’s father, Andre, passed away on Wednesday at age 63.

On Tuesday, the Golden Knights had to make urgent changes to their lineup ahead of Wednesday’s contest against the Predators in Nashville. The team made an emergency recall of goalie Garret Sparks seeing that Fleury is away from the team for personal reasons.

On Wednesday morning, we found out that Fleury had returned to Montreal because of an illness in his family, as confirmed by team insider David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review Journal.

We can only be relieved for Fleury that he got to see his father before he died.

He is expected to be miss Friday’s action against the visiting Arizona Coyotes and could miss the upcoming road trip as the Knights will travel to New York that night for a four-game trip.

Flower celebrated his 35th birthday on Thursday, which must have been such a hard time to be without his dad.
