While the goaltending situation for the Philadelphia Flyers remains up in the air concerning the status of Carter Hart between the pipes, one member of the organization who straps on the pads will be sticking around for at least the next two years.

It was announced earlier today that Samuel Ersson, whom the Flyers took in the 5th round of the 2018 NHL Draft, has been re-signed to a two-year contract extension that carries an AAV of $1.45 million.

He spent the majority of last season with the AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms, racking up a 24-171 record with a 2.84 goals against average and .900 save percentage and a single shutout. In the 12 NHL games he appeared in, he posted positive numbers with a 6-3 record, though his 3.07 goals against average will be something he'll be looking to lower in 2023-24.
