Flyers announce their alternate captains, led by captain Claude Giroux

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced their leadership group for the 2019-20 season, officially naming Sean Couturier, Jakub Voracek and newcomer Kevin Hayes as alternate captains. Claude Giroux, of course, will serve as the team’s captain.

Both Couturier and Voraceck served as alternates last season, as well. Wayne Simmonds, who left the team last season in a trade with the Nashville Predators and who signed this past offseason with the New Jersey Devils, was the third alternate in 2018-19. 

Hayes, who signed with the Flyers this offseason, previously served as an alternate captain with the New York Rangers.
