Flyers back in playoff position!

The Flyers might not have ended the game they wanted, but it led to them earning the point they needed to reclaim the final wild card spot. They moved past Detroit even though they are tied with 83 points due to having a game in hand.

The Flyers seemed to be on their way to a big win but unfortunately it wasn't in the cards. Columbus came back with two late goals to tie the game, the second of which was with just 8 seconds left. The Flyers went on to lose in the shootout. It was definitely what they hoped for but they at least earned the single point.

This crazy battle between the Flyers and Red Wings will go on till the final day. The Islanders are now in the race since they are only two points up on both teams. Philadelphia will have to hope they can take advantage of their game in hand and continue their winning ways. A little help can always go a long way for their chances as well but I am sure the Flyers would prefer to decide their own fate.
