The Philadelphia Flyers have made a significant change to their roster and it is a move that not everyone is going to love.

According to an official announcement from the Flyers organization, the team has sent 20 year old rookie center Morgan Frost back down to the American Hockey League where he will once again join the LeHigh Valley Phantoms. The move is almost certainly designed to give Frost more playing time after an 18 game sample size at the National Hockey League level, and it is also almost certainly a direct result of the other move made by the Flyers this evening.

The Flyers have also announced that veteran forward Michael Raffl has been activated off of injured reserve and fans will not have to wait long to see his return to action. According to the Flyers Raffl has been given the green light and will suit up this evening when the Flyers take on the Anaheim Ducks. The Flyers could potentially have kept Frost on the main roster but with the return of Raffl it seems fair to suggest that there would be limited limits for him to develop on the ice when compared to the time he will get in the AHL.

Prior to his injury Raffl had appeared in 28 games for the Flyers this season and over that stretch he recorded 3 goals and 6 assists for a combined total of 9 points and a plus minus rating of -4. Frost on the other hand finishes his 18 game NHL stretch with 2 goals and 5 assists for a total of 7 points and he also boasts a plus minus rating of -4 on the season.
